´Cycling through Sauerland

The Lenne route  - 150 km of cycling fun which stretches from the source of the river at Kahlen Asten, across Sauerland to the embouchure into the Ruhr river near Hagen, the gateway to the Ruhr area. This cycle route will lead you along the Lenne river through the towns of Winterberg, Schmalenberg, Lennestadt, Finnentrop, Plettenberg, Werdohl, Altena, Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde, Iserlohn-Letmathe and Hagen

A suitabe guide is the Radtourenbuch "Bergisches Land", published by the Erstbauer-Verlag with ISBN number 978-3-85000-681-1

Cycling by Numbers: Radeln nach Zahlen

The cycling path network in the Saarland and Siegerland-Wittgenstein regions is based on a honeycomb structure.  The corner points of each honeycomb has so-called "junctions" that interlink the honeycombs. When you are at a junction you are offered various directions. All the junctions have a number and in this way - even without a map - you will not get lost.

In order to cycle the Lenne route you would have to follow  these junction numbers, in the same order:

56 – 57 – 47 – 52 – 39 – 37 – 41 – 46 – 47 – 48 – 50 – 51 – 45 – 64 – 63 - 59 – 57 – 58 – 56

Start: Winterberg Bahnhof / Destination: Hagen-Hohenlimburg
